Palm Volley Men's Advanced Fall League
Competitive men's pickleball for 3.75–4.25 players, on your schedule. Three mixer weeks to meet the field, then four seeded weeks where every court you climb earns bonus points — and every game moves your Spark Rating.
Weekly groups of 4 · 3 mixer weeks, then 4 seeded weeks
Every week you're placed in a group of four that plays a double round-robin — you partner with each player twice, six games to 11 (win by 1). Weeks 1–3 are mixer weeks: groups are built so you share the court with as many different players as possible. With a full field of 16, that's nine different group-mates and no repeats before seeding starts. From week 4 on, groups are seeded by the standings — the top four make up Court 1, the next four Court 2, and so on — and the higher your court, the bigger your weekly court bonus.
Gold. Silver. Bronze.
The top three finishers in the standings after week 7 are awarded custom Palm Volley Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals.
How each week works
You'll get an automated email with your group and contact info, and league admin starts a group text to put everyone in touch.
Your group picks any day and time that week that works for all four of you. Then it's six games: two with each partner.
One designated player in your group logs every game — immediately after each match, in your Palm Volley account. The week closes Sunday at 11:00 PM sharp.
How standings & the court bonus work
Standings are ranked by percentage of points won — plus a court bonus for every seeded week you play on a tougher court.
Games go to 11, so a six-game week is worth 66 points. In weeks 4–7 you also earn 2 bonus points for every court below yours: with four courts, that's +6 on Court 1, +4 on Court 2, +2 on Court 3, and none on the bottom court. Holding your own against tougher players should count for more than rolling an easier group — the bonus makes the climb worth it. Ties are broken by win rate, then head-to-head record, then the largest margin of victory in a single game.

Built for solid 4.0 players — strong 3.75s ready to step up through 4.25s still sharpening their game. Not sure where you fit? Message us and we'll talk it through.
Weeks 4–7 only: 2 bonus points for every court below yours, added to your points won that week. On four courts that's +6, +4, +2, and 0.
Every game you log moves your Spark Rating, Palm Volley's chess-style rating. Beat stronger players, by bigger margins, and it climbs faster. Everyone starts at 1500.

Questions, answered
How are the mixer weeks built?+
Groups for weeks 1–3 are drawn to put you with as many new players as possible — nobody shares a group with the same player twice if the roster allows it. With a full 16, you'll have played with nine different players, more than half the league, before seeding starts.
Do the mixer weeks count?+
Yes. Every point in weeks 1–3 counts toward the standings, and those standings set the Court 1–4 groups for week 4. There's no court bonus in the mixer weeks — the courts don't exist yet.
How exactly does the court bonus work?+
From week 4 on, each group is a court: the top four in the standings play on Court 1, the next four on Court 2, and so on. You earn 2 bonus points for every court below yours, added to the points you won that week. The bonus rewards where you played, not whether you won, so you still have to win games to stay up there.
What is the Spark Rating?+
Spark is the Elo-style rating from Palm Volley's Court Report. After every game it moves by how surprising the result was — beating a stronger team moves it more than beating a weaker one — scaled by the margin of victory. It moves fast for your first 15 games, then settles. The standings decide groups and medals; Spark shows who you've beaten.
What if the league doesn't fill evenly?+
Groups of five play a single round-robin: four games each, to 15, so everyone's points possible still match. Larger groups go to the bottom court.
Where are games played?+
Wherever works for your group — venue choice is part of the flex format. Each week, your group of four picks the court along with the day and time.
What if my group can't find a time that works for me one week?+
Finding a substitute is the last resort — but if you truly can't play, message league admin as early as possible and we'll help find an approved sub if you don't have one. Any points your sub earns count on your behalf. Each player can use a substitution only once per season.
Who serves first, and when do we switch sides?+
You play each pairing twice: the team that didn't serve first in game one serves first in game two, and you switch sides of the court between the two games.
How are out calls and rule disputes handled?+
Games are self-officiated — out calls and rules questions are settled among the players on the court. League administration doesn't intervene.
Who logs the scores?+
Each group designates one person to log every game — the same person for all six, right after each match, in their Palm Volley account on the website or app. All scores (and any corrections) must be in before the week closes Sunday at 11:00 PM.
What ball do we use?+
Players supply game balls. The Lifetime LT Pro 48 is the league's recommended ball — if nobody in your group has one, any ball everyone agrees on works.
What if I need to drop out? Is there a refund?+
Yes — full refund any time before Week 1 groups are announced. Just reach out through the contact page. After the season starts, we'll pro-rate a credit toward a future season.
