Twenty-four matches. Two 11–10 finishes. One standings table already behaving irresponsibly.
Twenty-four matches produced 393 points, two 11–10 finishes and the immediate suspicion that this format enjoys chaos.
James Sparkman finished the opening week 6-0, collecting all 66 available points as the league's only unbeaten player. That set the mark. The more interesting development was how little room it created.
Kevin Tibbs and Jon Forrester each went 5-1 and claimed 63 of 66 points. Tibbs holds second on the tiebreaker, Forrester sits third, and both are only three points back — less a cushion than loose change in this format.

Reading the table
The format already matters
Javier Vargas supplied the clearest reminder that these standings reward every point, not only the final result. Vargas split his games 3-3 but banked 58 points — 87.9% of the maximum — to take fourth. Nicholas Dukeman won five of six and sits fifth with 56.
Yes, those records are in the correct order. No, the standings are not broken. That is the shape of this league: every rally can survive into the table long after a game ends.

Regulation was apparently optional
Apparently 10-10 was the preferred method for testing everyone's blood pressure. David Kampmeyer and Sparkman edged Paul Schmitz and Andrew Mahaven 11-10. Nicholas Dukeman and Jim Blake matched the margin against Javier Vargas and Luke Niebrugge. Those final rallies may already matter more than the win-loss column admits.
